Come and join our wonderful team of FoodShare Maidenhead volunteers.

​

Whether you can spare a couple of hours helping at FoodShare HQ, join our rota delivering food parcels, or help with supermarket collections, every bit of time you give helps us support local people who need us.

​

Volunteering at FoodShare isn’t just rewarding. It’s friendly, social and a great way to meet people and become part of a team, particularly as we head into our busiest time of year in the run-up to Christmas.

​

A quick note about age

Due to our insurance requirements and the nature of the work we do, our general volunteering opportunities are for people aged 17 and over.

​

However, we're happy to welcome younger volunteers completing their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) volunteering with us through the appropriate scheme. Please note: we can only Email:

Please note: DofE applications must be made by email directly from the student who wishes to volunteer. We are unable to accept applications made on a student’s behalf by a parent or guardian.

​

We’ve had a fantastic response to our recent volunteer drive, so thank you! At particularly busy times, new volunteers may need to join a short waiting list, but please don’t let that put you off getting in touch. Spaces regularly become available, and we would love to hear from you.

​

Please also note that there will be no volunteering sessions on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.

​

A couple of hours of your time really can make a difference to someone else’s week.

Our main Foodbank volunteering sessions are:

​Wednesday - 4:25 - 6:15 pm

Saturday - 8:50 am - 11 am

​

Volunteer Drivers & Collection Teams

If you’d like to help FoodShare but can’t commit to a full volunteering session, our collection and delivery rotas are a great way to get involved. Most take around 30 minutes.

SATURDAYS
Supermarket Collections: Between 9:00 am–10:00 am. Allow approximately 30 minutes.

Home Deliveries: From 10:30 am. Allow approximately 30 minutes.

You don’t have to do it every week. Our volunteers work as part of a rota, so even if you can only help occasionally, we’d still love to hear from you.

TUESDAYS

Salvation Army fresh Food Collection - 10:30 am fortnightly

​

WEDNESDAYS
Supermarket Collections: Between 4:45 pm–5:45 pm. Allow approximately 30 minutes.

THURSDAYS
Breakfast Club Deliveries: Once a month
A small, regular commitment that helps us support local breakfast clubs.

​

FRIDAYS
Church Deliveries: 10:30 am - Allow approximately 30 minutes.

 

Evening Supermarket Surplus Collections:

Collections from M&S and Waitrose at approximately 7:00 pm or 8:30 pm.
