Volunteer today
Are you looking to make a difference in your community and lend a helping hand to those in need?
Look no further than our volunteering opportunities!
Whether you have a couple of hours on a Wednesday early evening or a Saturday morning or are interested in longer-term commitments, we have a range of options for you.
Opportunities available
FOOD BANK
One of our most essential volunteering positions is at our Foodbank. We rely on our volunteers to work as a team and ensure our customers receive the food and support they need. You can volunteer on a rota (notifications via WhatsApp) and work a 2–3-hour shift alongside other friendly and hardworking volunteers.
FOODSHARE MEMBERSHIP SHOP
What about our Foodshare Shop? We are open Friday from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 am to 12. Email:
COMMUNITY CAFE
We also have various other opportunities for those looking to get involved in the fight against hunger and homelessness if you're passionate about helping the community by serving hot tea, coffee, and meals and clearing away after the session, we would like to hear from you.
DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD SCHEME
We have an opportunity for students in the Duke of Edinburgh programme. Places are limited, so please register your interest as soon as possible. We offer the DofE programme during our opening sessions on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
*The student should be over 14 years old
DRIVERS ON A ROTA BASIS
We always need drivers, and supermarket collections and home deliveries occur regularly each week. We may require ad hoc drivers when a large donation is available from the Harvest festival or business food drives. We’d love to hear from you if you are available on weekdays and weekends.
COOKING
PLEASE NOTE: We do not need people to cook; if we have a specific project that requires cooks, we will always advertise this volunteer role on our Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/FoodshareMaidenhead/
